Xbox is set to host its own showcase on the weekend, and immediately afterward, it's zooming in on The Outer Worlds 2 — and a reliable leaker has shared some pre-order details.
Billbil-kun, reporting via Dealabs, tells us that a release date for The Outer Worlds 2 will be announced during its segment, though they stop short of leaking the date itself. The report stresses the game won't be "shadow dropped".
Alongside that, the report includes details about pre-orders; apparently, fans will be able to pre-order the RPG immediately following the end of the show.
What's more, pre-order bonuses include something called the Commander Zane Battle Pack, which includes Zane's Uniform Armor, Ed's Pet Drone, and Zane's Pistol and Dagger. Presumably those will be contextualised during the showcase.
None of this is too surprising, but it's good to know The Outer Worlds 2 isn't too far away.
Again, Billbil-kun is one of the more reliable and consistent "insiders", especially back when they were accurately leaking PS Plus every month, so we're pretty certain this is all legit info.

I didn't have a bad time with the first game, but I've also never felt the need to play it again either.
My hope is that they veer away from its clear origins as a Fallout clone and attempt something original.
I liked the first game more of the same please loved the ship companions.

I’ve really been falling out of this type of game. I’ll still be interested but at a much lower price point
I really really wanted to like the first game. It might sound insane, but the game soundtrack just absolutely put me to sleep. It was such a vibe killer. I genuinely couldn’t continue.
After Avowed was just prettier pixels of Outerworld, I fully expect this to be prettier pixels of Avowed- The same boring empty world hubs built on a Gamepass assembly line
Can’t wait for this, loved the first game. Played through it twice to get Platinum on both PS4 & PS5 versions.
Played the first one. Got bored after a couple of hours. Felt like fallout from ALDI.
I always see Outer Wilds.. and my heart leaps every time. Then.... Disappointment 😭
I really think that every PlayStation only gamers should watch Power On: The Story of Xbox. It's incredibly eye opening and absolutely relates to PlayStation. It's a wonderful documentary.

Loved the first game, the character dynamics made it feel like Firefly, hope the team this time is great too. (Also hope the character creation allows for more customisation)
