Warhorse Studios has confirmed the news we wanted so desperately to hear: the anticipated major update 1.2 for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, which adds new hairstyle and moustache options and its gruelling Hardcore Mode, will arrive on PS5 imminently, on 13th March.
The first major content update for the game, it's just the first step on a much larger medieval journey. If you picked up KC: DII at launch, it's entirely possible, probable even, that you haven't seen the credits roll yet. The base game really is a behemoth, and we already know that at least three expansions are planned in 2025 alone. We can't wait to get back to an even more punishing playthrough of the game; although we'll never be able to look at our faithful canine companion, Mutt, the same again (see below).
Are you playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance II? Does the imminent prospect of Hardcore Mode make you want to scrap your current playthrough, and truly grovel in the muck like a proper peasant? Let us know in the comments section below.

Still way off from the end and i've falling off a bit this week because of MH Wilds but yeah very excited for the update.
Hardcore mode. Now that’s funny…. (as I get my ass whooped for the 100th time).
Pretty sure they said on the twitch stream that HC was coming the month after the barber update. Has it been brought forward?
I am at the point in the game where Khayl almost thought the game would end only to open up further.
I've been very happy with the game so far and feel it's a fantastic game wrapped in a great immersive world that functions as a museum for my curiosity of life in medieval Europe.
I only paused my game to check out Dragon Age: Veilguard. It is a decent action game, but a terrible Dragon Age RPG in my opinion. I am skipping/speed running my way through on story-telling and whilst combat is the best feature it is pretty boring. To have a Kingdom Come sequel that truly delivers on fans' hopes and hype is truly astonishing compared to the many, many let downs of modern gaming.
Been waiting for a moustache to complete my spectacled Charisma outfit. And I’m still not in Kuttenburg city, so time to spare.
70 hours in i havent even got to the wedding -.-
68 hours played such a Masterpiece best side quests since Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2
140hrs and I'm nowhere near done , definitely my game of the year so far , and its going to be hard for it to be beaten , do the haircuts and beards affect your stats ? and can you have different ones linked to your different outfits ?
I'm approaching the level cap so I assume that I'm nearing the end of the story. I'll likely take a small break between playthroughs but I'm going to dive back in on hardcore pretty quickly.
As said before, this is a niche title and it’s ok to not like it.
That’s said, I often feel when playing it that it could sell a truly massive number of units (many times the current sales) with an accessible mode that streamlines certain systems and mechanics to make it more time-friendly and easier.
When you start altering the game experience with hardcore modes, I feel some of the justification for not doing an accessible mode is lost.
Besides I don’t think this game is anything like the Souls titles, where an easier mode would detract from the game and lose that sense of where just getting to see certain bosses is a thrill in itself, such is their almost mythological status and the challenge of reaching far enough to even see them.
KCD ain’t that type of game.
@SquawkingTurtle well like I said in another comment, ive got 140hrs just checked the main quest list online and I'm on quest 15 of 30 which I was pleasantly suprised at , so yeah its huge
I'm about 75hrs in on the 2nd map and about 60% through the main missions. I am enjoying the game and the world a lot although I will admit it is starting to drag a little bit now, with likely another 10-20 hours left to go until I complete the game. I usually like to have my games done after about 80 hours. The only exception to that would be Persona 5 Royal as my fave game of all time.
@Cornpop76 hmm wouldn't say it's niche, there's other games that have done this type of massive rpg with similar mechanics, its just this does it so much better , the only thing I'd change would be ,sometimes there's a smattering of quests that take away your armour loadout and you have to put it back on again , with all the separate bits of armour on my main build it's annoying, other than that it's perfect , the more you play the easier it gets , i was stuck in a duel for ages couldn't beat him, poisoned my sword and he was easy and I won the duel, but now I'm waiting for someone to tell me I cheated in a few days , it's that type of game, you've got to think outside the box sometimes with the quests, it gives you the general idea but then it's upto you how it's done.
Hopefully this patch will solve the sound stuttering bug on PS5. I got a refund because of this and the game is unplayable (unless you turn off the sound but for an immersive RPG, who would do that?). Definitely looking forward to buy the game again if it's fixed. Otherwise, well I have a backlog to clear...
@B0udoir weird must be a ps5 specific bug its fine on the pro sometimes you get reverb outside when coming out of a cave and rain indoors but a re load solves this , odd it's on the ps5 and not the pro
@lazarus11 so far I've read that the bug appears if the sound is using linear PCM compression, which is activated by default if you play with a headset or depending on your tv if you don't have a 3d sound system.
@lazarus11 Stutter exists on the Pro in Kuttenberg, it's to do with the hero perk apparently. Hoping the patch fixes it...
