Lego Inadvertently Reveals Lego Dimensions' Roster
This weekend, Lego posted the instructions for Lego Dimensions' Back to the Future Level Pack. On its surface, it doesn't sound like a big deal; the set was announced alongside the game's reveal last month. As with most Lego instruction manuals, however, it had a gallery of images featuring other upcoming sets for Dimensions. Those images confirmed earlier reports that Scooby-Doo and Portal are coming to the platform, and reveal a load of new content, too.
A member of the Lego fan community Brickset named Bert found the listing, and shared the images with the site (click here to check them all out). The six Level Packs include characters and vehicles from Jurassic World, Scooby-Doo, Portal 2, and Doctor Who, Back to the Future, and The Simpsons. There are 18 Fun Packs listed, which include a minifig and a vehicle (or Shelob, in Gollum's case). Ninjago, The Legend of Chima, The Lord of the Rings, and The Lego Movie, and The Simpsons get multiple themed packs, but a few stragglers including Wonder Woman and the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz pop up as well. You should definitely check out the gallery, even if it's just to see one of the goofiest-looking dinosaurs ever constructed. Maybe you can do better?
Another interesting reveal is how the instructions work. They're actually different from traditional sets, in that you're told how to assemble the minifig and then referred to the in-game instructions. We've reached out to Warner Bros. for more information and will update should we receive a response.
Lego Dimensions is coming September 27 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

Our Take
This isn't how Lego, Warner Interactive, or Traveller's Tales wanted to announce these sets, but there may be a silver lining. Even without the fanfare of a big trailer or E3 surprise, the existence of Doctor Who and Portal 2 is probably going to attract more players to the game. That in-game instruction thing is a bit strange, too. I build my sets on the kitchen table, and I don't have my consoles set up there, because I'm not a tremendous weirdo. Hopefully, they release a companion app so I don't wear out the carpet on my stairs.
