by Kimberley Wallace on Apr 23, 2015 at 10:58 AM

Square Enix announced that it's giving PC users the chance to experience the sequel to Final Fantasy IV next month.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years first launched in North America for the Wii, and then made its way to the PSP and mobile platforms. The Final Fantasy IV sequel is set two decades after the original game. The After Years features a lot of returning cast members, such as Cecil and Rosa, alongside new ones like their son, Prince Cheodore. Together they must confront the second moon once again and finally unravel its mysteries.

The game heads to PC on May 12 for $15.99 ,and will include Steam achievements and trading cards.

Our Take
I like games coming to more platforms so more people can play them. People have mixed opinions on The After Years. It didn't exactly work episodically, but released as a complete version, it's easy to digest as Joe Juba noted in his review of the Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection. I just wish the price tag was a bit lower for a game that's far from new.
