Looks Like Minecraft Will Get a Native PS5 Version Soon 1

After digging up some fresh evidence, Minecraft fans are getting excited about what appears to be a proper PS5 port of the sandbox-'em-up.

The PS4 edition of Minecraft is of course playable on PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility, but it's a rickety old version at this point. The Xbox version was updated at the end of last year with 4K support, so players are hoping for similar treatment with a native PS5 port.

This story stems from Reddit user the_andshrew, who's discovered what looks like a PS5 version of Minecraft on the PS Store's backend. They list several title ID numbers and an image that's no doubt the icon art from the Store page.

In addition, PlayStation Game Size, an account that closely follows the movements of the PS Store, has confirmed it in typically concise form:

So, it would seem this is happening, we just need the official word from Mojang now. Hopefully it isn't too far away, but given it's on the PS Store in some form, it shouldn't be. Would you like to see a PS5 version of Minecraft? Dig your way to the comments section below.
