Since the original Final Fantasy VII, released 27 years ago (...), the fictional play Loveless has been a part of the background lore of FF7’s universe. It played a role in the spin-off prequel Crisis Core and its in full focus during FF7 Rebirth’s play sequence at the Gold Saucer in Chapter 12. - Claire Jackson Read More

Speccing out your party in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is essential to surviving its toughest fights. While weapons, armor, and accessories will go a long way to boosting stats, the magical orbs known as materia pack even greater resources for buffing your party in the midst of a fight to gain an edge, raise their defenses, or even render some enemy attacks ineffective. - Claire Jackson Read More

Like the original 1997 RPG, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth lets you go on a nice little date with all but one member of the party (sorry, Cait Sith). And while Rebirth has an easier-to-understand relationship system than the original game, it can still be a little confusing. That makes picking a specific character, say, Tifa, a little challenging. - Claire Jackson Read More

Stardew Valley, the eight-year-old cozy farming sim, is new again thanks to its latest patch. Update 1.6 launched on March 19 and brought a long laundry list of bug fixes, changes, and new content to the game. It’s enough to get old and new players to dive in, years after its release. One of the most interesting additions that players can encounter in Stardew Valley 1.6 is a new merchant, the bookseller, whose name is Marcello. As an epic RPG, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has a ton of fights. Sometimes the battle doesn’t go your way and it’s clear you’re headed towards a “game over” screen. But don’t worry, Rebirth has a handy feature that can reset nearly all fight sequences in the game, bringing you back to the start for a neat little redo. The only problem? The fight reset menu has some of the most confusing language in all of Rebirth. Yeah, even the ending’s easier to figure out than this. - Claire Jackson Read More

Of all the challenging encounters players face in Vanillaware’s strategy RPG Unicorn Overlord’s s, some of the most interesting occur in its optional coliseum. Located in the city of Baumratte and unlocked by completing the “Another Prince” quest, the coliseum side activity gives players a chance to take down progressively more difficult enemy units. In exchange for victories, you’ll earn a currency that lets you buy powerful gear. The ultimate reward comes from completing all 30 battles, at which point the powerful Dreadnaught Amalia will join your army. Besting those 30 fights can be a challenge that tests the player’s skill in surprising ways, but with the right strategy, you can become the coliseum’s champion. Here’s how. - Willa Rowe Read More

Before you even set off to scale Mt. Nibel with Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, there are a number of settings you should consider tweaking. While many of the base settings are fine to leave alone, some, like the graphics mode, demand your attention before you dive in. And yes, even after two updates, we still recommend the Graphics Setting over the two new Performance options. That said, you should consider trying out all the modes. And for repeat playthroughs, you may wish to consider Performance. - Claire Jackson Read More

Of all the creatures and enemies you expect to encounter in Unicorn Overlord, a goat isn’t on that list. Yet goats abound in Vanillaware’s tactics RPG, at least on Albion, an island kingdom that players reach late in the game. These goats are friendly, and produce milk. But befriending these animals and actually getting them to produce Goat Milk is a task that Unicorn Overlord doesn’t explain to you. So, if you are pursuing certain quests, you’ll need some sooner or later. So, here’s exactly how you can get Goat Milk in Unicorn Overlord. - Willa Rowe Read More
