Monster Hunter World Sales

Monster Hunter World has long held the record as the best selling game Capcom has ever released, and the numbers just keep going up. Now six years old, the action RPG has topped 25 million sales ā€” which is very much in mega hit territory. It's a figure that most games couldn't even dream of approaching, and just goes to show how far the franchise has come in terms of popularity.

The last time we heard about World's sales was back in late 2021, when the title had broken through 20 million. So that's an additional five million in roughly two-and-a-bit years. That in itself is pretty crazy.

It would seem as though the announcement of Monster Hunter Wilds has played a part in this more recent success. You may recall that World's player numbers skyrocketed following the sequel's reveal at The Game Awards last year.

Of course, because of all this, Capcom will likely have high expectations of the aforementioned Wilds. There's no doubt it'll be built on an even bigger budget, and the publisher will want to replicate the momentum that it found ā€” and still enjoys ā€” with World.

Are you happy to see World be such a success? What are you own expectations for Wilds? Don't let that rathalos swoop in the comments section below.
