With Chapter 5 Season 2 releasing in a few days, many changes will come to Fortnite. One of the biggest changes will be the loot pool modification. More specifically, Epic Games will remove some weapons that are currently available and replace them with new ones. According to a reputable Fortnite leaker, one of the fan-favorite weapons may return with the upcoming season.

The new season will bring many changes to the game, and several free Fortnite skins will no longer be available once it comes out. Due to this, you should unlock them next time you get on. If you need a leveling boost, though, we’ve prepared a list of the best XP maps in Fortnite, as these will help you finish the Battle Pass and unlock all cosmetic rewards.

Fortnite leak shows a new version of a fan-favorite weapon

The Tactical Shotgun is one of the most popular Fortnite weapons of all time. The close-range weapon was available from day one and stayed in the game for a couple of years. While it’s not currently available, a Fortnite leak shows that it may return very soon. Epic Games has been playtesting this weapon, which is why we already know its stats as well.

According to Hypex, these are the weapon stats:

  • Damage: 79-97
  • Headshot damage: 119-145
  • Fire Rate: 1
  • Reload Time: 4.2 to 3.6 seconds
  • Magazine Size: 6

The lowest rarity of the weapon will deal 79 damage, as shown above, while the best rarity will deal nearly 100 damage. Furthermore, the Fortnite leaker clarified that reloading the weapon will reload the entire clip at once. Considering that the weapon is still in the testing phase, its stats may slightly change before its release.

To put it in perspective, these are the stats of the original Tactical Shotgun:

  • Damage: 77-94
  • Headshot damage: 134-164
  • Fire Rate: 1.5
  • Reload Time: 6.27 to 5.13 seconds
  • Magazine Size: 8

While the original weapon had a higher headshot multiplier, a larger magazine, and a faster rate of fire, its reload time was much slower. The Fortnite leaker hasn’t shared anything regarding the potential release date of the new Tactical Shotgun. However, considering that Chapter 5 Season 2 will come out on March 8, we might get it soon.
