Confirming recent rumours – Until Dawn will indeed be getting a remaster and it’s been teased to launch later this year.

The original game launched on PS4 back in 2015, so this new version is said to have been rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 to take advantage of all the new bells and whistles that time has afforded in the interim. To go along with that, we’re promised “new and improved animations” that build on the original performances from the star studded cast including Scream’s Hayden Panettiere, Academy Award winner Rami Malek and prolific character actor (and former Call of Duty advert star) Peter Stormare.

Original studio Supermassive aren’t actually behind this remaster, with duties instead being taken up by Ballistic Moon – but we’re also promised to be able to see the familiar story from ‘new perspectives’ thanks to a new third person camera as well as “new interactions and collectibles promised. Finally, the game will be coming to both PlayStation 5 and PC – so those who didn’t get to experience the game on console will be able to give the game a go as well.

While a specific date hasn’t yet been given for Until Dawn’s enhanced edition, we are promised it’ll come later in 2024 – and there’ll be more information in the coming months. For now, you can check out the game’s trailer here. Or check out our original review of Until Dawn here.
