Hogwarts Legacy hits 24m copies sold

Harry Potter title Hogwarts Legacy has sold more than 24 million copies to date.

That's according to Variety, which reports that the blockbuster hit this sales milestone just under one year after its initial release. Hogwarts Legacy was launched on February 10th, 2023.

Warner Bros Interactive boss David Haddad told Variety that the company is doubling down on its games business as a way of reinforcing its IP.

“A very consistent message coming from the executive layer of Warner Bros. Discovery is the importance of franchises,” he said.

“There’s a unique and important role games have in keeping our franchises relevant, resonant and exciting, because there’s plenty of fans and plenty of people consuming content where games are their starting point.”

Warner Bros previously said that it planned to turn its biggest games IP into live-service titles.
