Potentially one of the most divisive games of the year is already off to a rocky start. Many players have attempted to execute the early access New Zealand release time trick for Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League, but this exploit has been ruined by KTJL being taken offline for several hours.

The biggest source of controversy for the Suicide Squad KTJL game is the live-service model and looter-shooter gameplay. However, while the gameplay and structure of missions have received negative previews, the game does have a star-studded list of voice actors and everyone appears to unanimously agree that the cut-scenes and storytelling are on par with what you’d expect from the developers behind the legendary Batman Arkham series.

We’ve been waiting years to finally experience Rocksteady’s newest entry into the DC Comics saga, and you will have to wait several hours longer to play early access if you live in New Zealand or have attempted to execute the NZ trick.

How to get early access to the Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League game

You must buy the Deluxe edition to get early access to the Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League game to play from January 30th rather than February 2nd. Below are the prices and pre-order bonuses per edition (via PSN store):

Standard edition – £69.99:

  • Classic outfits
  •   Rogue outfits

Deluxe edition – £99.99:

  • Classic outfits
  •   Rogue outfits
  •   Justice League Outfits
  •   3 Black Mask Notorious Weapons
  •   Squad Golds Weapon Dolls
  •   1 Battle Pass Token
  •   72 Hour Early Launch Access
  •   No Shade Color Swatches

Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League game New Zealand release time

The release time for Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League in New Zealand is 12 AM NZDT on January 30th. As confirmed by the SuicideSquadRS Twitter account, the early access release time is midnight local on January 30th for every region on PS5 and Xbox. With this confirmed by Rocksteady, the NZ trick should work in the United States and the United Kingdom at 3 AM PT/ 6 AM ET/ 11 AM GMT on January 29th.

As for PC, the launch time is 7 AM NZDT on January 31st. This is because PC has a simultaneous launch on Steam at 10 AM PT/ 1 PM ET/ 6 PM GMT on January 30th. While the launch hours are unfortunate for PC, the rolling midnight launch for consoles is good news as it means the NZ exploit should work on Xbox.

How to do the New Zealand early access trick for the KTJL game

Players on Xbox can get hours of even earlier early access to the Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League game by exploiting the New Zealand trick. For the NZ trick to work, you need to have pre-ordered and preloaded the game on your Xbox console. It also needs to be the Deluxe edition you pre-ordered to play from January 29th.

Provided you’ve pre-ordered the Deluxe edition, simply follow the below steps at 3 AM PT/ 6 AM ET/ 11 AM GMT on January 29th:

  • Start your Xbox
  •   Head to Settings
  •   Click System
  •   Choose Language and Location
  •   Change location to New Zealand
  •   Restart your Xbox

If you have pre-ordered the Standard edition instead, the NZ trick will work from 3 AM PT/ 6 AM ET/ 11 AM GMT on February 1st. There is an exploit available for PS5, too, but it’s not worth performing on PlayStation consoles as it requires creating a separate NZ account and you would have to buy NZ gift cards which cost more than just buying the game at a regular fee.

Unfortunately, as reported by SuicideSquadRS on Twitter, the game has been taken offline for downtime. This means no one can play early access right now whether you actually live in New Zealand or are pulling off the NZ trick. There’s no mention of when downtime will specifically end, but Rocksteady says they ‘expect this to take several hours’.
