After a long development period, the action-RPG from Cygames is almost here. With unique co-op and party-based combat, there’s a lot to look forward to. If you thought the game oozed PlatinumGames vibes, that might be because this was supposed to be a joint project between the two studios. Unfortunately, the Devil May Cry developer dropped out of this collaboration. But the game still appears to be an engrossing experience.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is scheduled to release on Thursday, Feb 1, 2024. 4-player co-op means that you can face treacherous foes with the help of others on your grand adventure. Moves like Link Attacks and Chain Bursts let you double down on teamwork along the main story with real-time combat.

After first being announced in 2016, the game has gone through a rough development period. A few delays later, the game is almost here.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink story

Granblue Fantasy takes place in the Sky Realm, a world named Estalucia where islands float across the sky. You’ll step into the shoes of a captain of a skyfaring crew, joined by a dragon named Vyrn and a young girl with mysterious powers named Lyria. Meeting her ‘sets the wheels of fate in motion’ and starts the main story.

With new characters like the alchemist Cagliostro and Seofon Tweyen, members of the Eternals, a group of weapon masters, expect plenty of surprises. In the Zegagrande Skydom, islands are guarded by powerful creatures known as primal beasts. Expect these living weapons to play a significant role in the story as well.

Does Granblue Fantasy: Relink have multiplayer

Yes, the game has PvE co-operative multiplayer with up to four players online. Note that there is no PvP confirmed for the game. This means that you can only team up against monsters in the story mode.

Expect Steam games to usually drop at 10 AM PST. PlayStation titles tend to be released at midnight local time. Watch out for these timings as we haven’t got an official release time yet.

Yes, you get 72 hours of early access by pre-ordering Granblue Fantasy: Relink. This perk applies to any edition of the game that’s been pre-ordered on a supported platform. Early Access play begins at 7 AM PT on January 28, 2024.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink will be released on PS4, PS5, and PC. There is no information on whether one can expect Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch ports at this time.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink demo content explained

Game developer Cygames released a Granblue Fantasy: Relink demo at midnight local time on January 12, 2024. This is exclusive to PS5 and PlayStation 4 players with three modes: Tutorial, Story, and Quest. Steam players won’t get access to this demo. It lets players experience a small portion of the campaign and its rewards can be transferred to the full game.

It features 11 playable characters with even more in the full game.
