The Witcher 4

As part of its latest earnings report, CD Projekt Red has provided an update on the state of its current projects, as of the 31st October, 2023. Now that it's all but wrapped up major support for Cyberpunk 2077 β€” following the release of Phantom Liberty in September and the announcement of the Ultimate Edition β€” the company's focus has quite clearly shifted to The Witcher 4 (or whatever it'll end up being called).

The report shows that roughly 50% of CDPR's workforce is now engaged with 'Polaris', which is the next Witcher game's codename. Back at the end of July, Polaris commanded around 35% of development teams, so things are obviously ramping up.

What's more, 35% of employees are currently "in transfer". These devs were previously working on all of the Cyberpunk-related stuff, and it's assumed that they'll soon be placed on other projects β€” including Polaris.

Of course, it's probably going to be quite some time since we see The Witcher 4 in action, but this report at least suggests that full production will kick in relatively soon.
