Journey to Foundation was announced back in February, a virtual reality adaptation of Isaac Asimov's highly regarded sci-fi novels. The adventure title now has a release date, coming to PSVR2 on 26th October, 2023.
Over on the PS Blog, the developer says the game will take full advantage of Sony's headset, utilising haptic feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers and more to immerse players in the Foundation universe. "Anyone who reads Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series will know there are a lot of tense, exciting conversations where characters are grappling with the fate of the Empire or are engaged in a fierce battle of wills," writes developer Archiact's Ken Thain. "In adapting this iconic series to VR, we sought to make these conversational moments as satisfying and immersive as possible, which was possible by leveraging some of the PlayStation VR2’s unique features."
The headset haptics are put to use with protagonist Ward's Mentalic abilities, letting him see and control the emotions of others. Eye tracking will let you pick conversation options, and spot special objects in the environment that unlock "unique dialogue and new player paths".
You'll be given access to a modular pistol, with swappable chips changing its behaviour, and each will feel different via the Sense controller triggers. Elsewhere, you'll need to make physical hand gestures, such as raising your hands to surrender.

Looking forward to this one. Don’t know when I’ll get the time though, haven’t even got to Hubris yet, and Red Matter is about to drop!
Kinda regret buying the psvr 2 now....the tech is good and all I just CBA to play it and have lost most motivation to even try ...even bought a gun stock and have used it a massive once
Just so much more convenient to get back from work and sit back with a normal controller

I’ve learned I only like playing VR sitting because I’m a lazy bugger too lol. Still, I like playing VR sitting more than flat, depthless games sitting, so definitely not regretting mine, just regretting buying beat saber and pistol whip lol.
@StylesT @thefourfoldroot1 Personally, I start my day by playing Beat Saber. It's simply so much fun and it helps me wake up. I could never get tired of Pistol Whip either. The adrenaline pump is just unparalleled.

Lol, I enjoy it occasionally, but I’m lazy. I get up at 6 and am on my way to work by half past. Getting up earlier to play pistol whip is the last thing on my mind.
@StylesT most games can be played seated. No man's sky for example works very well seated. For most games You need a chair etc. which allows You do move Your arms a but more freely, though.
Also looking forward to this one. I hope, it delivers.
@thefourfoldroot1 Yeah, I can imagine. Lately, I'm all about going to bed super early and waking up early and working out, but I get that it's not feasible or even fun for most most people.

I’m feeling too old for that now. I’m 40, and long for the days I could play games until 3 in the morning and still get up for work a few hours later. I seem to spend far too much gaming time asleep these days.
@StylesT I 100% agree with you. I thought I was the only one! So many games I've bought for it, and I just can't be arsed to go through the whole process. Plus it isn't comfortable to play for any extended time. And I can't be arsed with moving my arms and body around 😆
