With Starfield just over a month away fans are beginning to hope that the lifeless planets in the game will be used for future DLC. Some are even hoping Bethesda will continue to support the game for the next 10 years.

Just after the Starfield Direct in an interview on the Kinda Funny Xcast, Todd Howard revealed that only 10% of Starfield’s would have life. He said, “About 10% of those planets, have life on them, we’re pushing it to the edge of what do people think, what planets are in that Goldilocks zone, versus planets that have resources.” While some players were disappointed by this revelation others still noted that around 100 planets full of life was plenty to keep players occupied when the game launches.

Now, Starfield players are hoping these lifeless planets will be used for future DLC. Taking to the Starfield Reddit one player said, “The massive amount of planets in Starfield could make room for possibly a decade of DLC content.” They cited games like Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4 as having “some huge DLC” and given “Starfield has so much extra space that Bethesda could support this game well into the next Elder Scrolls.” This opinion was shared by another Reddit user who said, “If only 100 out of 1000 planets will feature some kind of life, the remaining 900 could be used for much more DLC content than all TES or FO games had.”

Regardless of whether these planets are used for future DLC or not some fans, such as Eric_T_Meraki, are still convinced “people are getting too caught up on the 10% thing.” They said, “Just because there isn’t life on a planet doesn’t necessarily mean that there won’t be anything to do there, especially with the radiant system in place you’re bound to discover something to do when exploring.”

Starfield is still advertising a lot of content on launch and given we’ve already heard about the Starfield Shattered Space DLC it may be possible that we see even more stuff added to the game sooner rather than later.
