Yep yep yep this looks real good. Sure, they aren’t the most innovative games but they’re very fun. Can’t wait to use the black suit again, I wasted so many hours in SM3 on PS2.

That was one heck of a trailer. With that being said I hardly gonna pick this one up for launch. While spidey 2 it's probably gonna be one hell of a ride, it's not reinventing the wheel and personaly money is quite tight (of course that is another big factor). Also don't feel like falling for FOMO effect this time around. When the time comes I will play and sure will enjoy it

@KaijuKaiser I get that but thise characters are iconic and those designs seem different not only with how they are depicted in comics but also different from the first Spider Man game? I may be mistaken but the face models seem changed to me

@get2sammyb I get what they try to do and I didn't want go sound negative, it's just I would personally prefer if the character faces, especially Peter and MJ, were more comic accurate.

I played a lot of the first one and Miles Morales spin-off, and this seems awesome but more of the same. I'll definitely buy it, however not at launch period.

@belmont Out of curiosity, whose designs do you like? There’s a lot of variation in the comics, from Ditko to Romita Sr. to McFarlane to Romita Jr. and a multitude of others.

I don’t know why they decided to change the face models of Peter and now MJ, while they kept Miles’ face model the same? The original PS4 face models were a lot better. I am now less hyped for this game tbh. The unnecessary decisions they’re making doesn’t fill me with confidence.

This looks great in fairness, and I actually think the depiction of Kraven is really solid.

If anyone is into the comics, I'd highly recommend "Kraven's Last Hunt" - which is fairly dark in tone for Spiderman. A fantastic graphic novel, and does well to raise up Kraven as one of the biggest threats out there...

A part of me is tempted to watch the trailer just based on the feedback, but at the same time I don't really need to as I've had this pre-ordered since the day it went up on PlayStation Direct.

Seriously? The graphics are horrendous in cutscenes. Thats like 2014 level ps4 graphics.

I seem to be one of the few that really didn’t like Spider-Man. The combat reminds me of a hyped up Assassins Creed and that’s definitely not a good thing, to me.

@get2sammyb That may be, but I almost(if not totally) forgot this is supposed to be a game when I saw the trailer and it felt like a movie trailer. And I'm dead serious.

@Arnna I'm with you. I'll probably play these games through when they hit PS+ one day. And I've been a Spiderman fan since I grew up with the comics in the 70's and 80's. The games just don't click with me.

Also, the game is getting awfully crowded, there are so many (presumably) playable characters now. I guess the female spider will be introduced in the 3rd installment...

@BeenGamingSince_83 I remember enjoying the ‘Maximum Carnage’ series of comic books when I was a young one. I enjoyed the giant cast of characters in that series.
With the games, I think I’ve been spoiled by the combat in FROMSOFT and Team Ninja games, so when I see this kind of loose, button mashy combat I’m immediately turned off.

It looks very very good but nothing jaw dropping, I hardly can see any gameplay footage in this trailer, looked like scripted cinematic scenes to me.

@NinjaNicky True. The difference is the length/scope of the game. It's less of a problem for shorter linear games to have similar sequels than it is for huge open-world games.

I always felt like it seemed to take inspiration from the Arkham games more than Assassin’s creed.

AC has always had sloppy combat. Spider-Man felt pretty tight. Not as tight as Arkham but it did give me an Arkham impression.

@OrtadragoonX The 3 most recent AC games had much tighter combat. The pre-Origins games can be very clunky to play now.

Also Venom’s model is absolutely amazing.

Yeah that’s true. I did notice the combat loop was much tighter in Origins and Odyssey than it was in AC3 (which was the last AC game I played before those two, although I never finished Odyssey).

As much as I love Eddie Brock and I consider him the definitive Venom, I’m glad Insomniac is taking a different route. They would have needed to have set up Peter and Brock’s rivalry in the first game. Since they didn’t do that, it wouldn’t make any sense to have Brock as Venom in the second game.

I’m very interested to see how they go with Harry Osborne as Venom.

Plenty of people have been Venom in the comics. Even Kraven was Venom in the comics for a small amount of time.

I still wish they could have included the Punisher as a “wild card” character in the game.

The Punisher made his debut in Spider-Man back in 1974 I think. It would have been fitting to have included him in this game as a character that plays the wild card role that both Peter/Miles and Kraven both fear for different reasons.

Peter fears him for his unpredictability and his willingness to kill, but does appreciate his assistance. Especially when he gets the symbiote suit and begins to really understand why Frank feels the way he does. Kraven fears him because he knows Frank Castle’s past and what he will do to him if he isn’t careful. Kraven could then try to play Peter against Frank. With Miles caught in the middle.

can't stand miles morales so skipped last game. still deciding if i can stomach him for this one

I disagree with both of you. StarField looks very bland and boring to me. Since Oblivion and Fallout 3 Bethesda games have been declining imo. Spider-Man looks far more enjoyable.

And @Batsugun887 with all due respect you don't know what I own or my financial situation to make such assumptions and insults based on a video game. Sounds like I touched a nerve. Saved up for Halo and DMC? then I'm likely older than you at 35 with a comfortable financial situation to afford any game at full price anytime. And I grew up with the NES fwi.

StarField doesn't stand a chance at GotY against a name and system seller like Spider-Man. The name alone will carry it and it looks great.

Precursor, this is a day one buy for me but their human models are really kind of weird, can't put my finger on it, but some real uncanny valley stuff going on here. I can't wait to play it, though.

@OrtadragoonX yeah and they all sucked. Eddie is the only Venom that’s even remotely interesting. Maybe they can do something interesting with Harry, but it’s 2 we’re not getting a good adaptation of Eddie in videogame form.
