The release of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 kicked things off with a bang as its exciting pre-historic safari theme and the announcement of an Optimus Prime collaboration predictably had fans eager to get hands-on with all the new features that were set to be offered. Now that the third season is well underway, however, it appears fans aren’t quite fond of the content that’s been introduced as some are now calling it “the most lifeless season” they’ve had in a while.

Over on Reddit, a disgruntled Fortnite player named Vovancheg31 even created a post harshly describing Wilds as “the worst season in [the past] 2-3 years.” They would then list the following reasons as the main causes for its mediocrity: “little to no events, really bad map, horrible weapon meta, bunker build meta in no build mode, really bad battle pass skins compared to previous seasons, and a horrendous new milestone system.” “First season since Zero Build mode introduction that made me, [a] really active player, uninstall [the game] and [has me] genuinely not wanting to come back till next chapter,” they finished.

Unfortunately, based on many of the comments below Vovancheg31’s post, it seems a portion of the Fortnite community agreed with these statements as November_Four said: “I would really agree with you on your title. I fire up the game to get my daily quests done and then turn it off. Even getting wins is not curbing my un-enthusiasm.” HockeyGoalie70 would then add to the growing list of disappointed players by noting that “it definitely feels like [Epic Games] mailed it in this time around.”

Alas, with the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 release date still more than a month away, the community will potentially have to stick with the content that’s currently being offered for the next handful of weeks as the developers are unlikely to introduce any significant changes ahead of the seasonal update.
