Atlas Fallen, the upcoming action RPG from Focus Entertainment and Deck 13, has officially gone gold. This means work on the game is essentially done, and it'll be sure to hit its release date of 10th August, 2023.
The news was confirmed on social media today:
This follows the game receiving a delay to its August launch. Initially planned for release in May, Atlas Fallen was pushed back to deliver the best possible version of the game.

To recap, this is an action RPG from the makers of The Surge series, featuring optional co-op. The game has you exploring a ruined landscape embedded in a sprawling desert, fighting strange monsters using a combination of magic and melee. It looks like it could be pretty dang fun in recent gameplay footage.

This game looks like it's trying to activate every part of my lizard brain and I am absolutely here for it.
Looks good. Now, should I go for this, or should I wait for Dragon Age Dreadwolf? If I ever need an action/rpg fix, I just replay Inquisition, again.
This does look good. August release date is a bit weird though...? September to November is the sweet spot.

@Matthewnh given the last few games Bioware have put out were so damned meh, I'd give DA a wide berth
@nocdaes Because releasing it around Baldur's Gate 3, Starfield, and Armored Core would be a very stupid decision. Lest we forget Titanfall 2 releasing inbetween industry juggernauts.
Why is the standard edition only 50 euros?
Not that I mind paying less, but given the standard prices nowadays practiced by the rest of the industry, it makes me wonder if there's something with the game (on the short side, medium quality, etc)
EDIT: Short is not, apparently it takes about 25-30h to complete, which is very good... guess we'll see how it fares in the reviews next month.

In fact, I thought that Andromeda was good. They tried something a bit different, and didnāt quite manage it. I would have loved a sequel to that one.
The thing that really worries me about BioWare, though, is that most of their writers have gone. Difficult to imagine Dragon Age without David Gaider.
Let's hope it won't be such a big mess ass their last game.

@Flaming_Kaiser Nah, I don't believe that logic at all. Of you release in August you're as good as saying "this game isn't good enough to compete".
Evidence? Shadow of Mordor. That released 30th September 2014 and was a huge breakout hit amongst big competition.
It did not release in August. If you're game is good, you back yourself.
@nocdaes But that had WB behind and it was really well known brand. This one is new with a smaller developer with less budget.
@Flaming_Kaiser Hrmm yes, that's true - good points. Well we don't have long to wait and see what happens with this one. Maybe August will pay off for them.
