The Xbox Games Showcase has now given viewers a look at inXile Entertainment’s Clockwork Revolution and, at first glance, the upcoming dystopian adventure looks eerily like Irrational Games and 2K’s BioShock Infinite. But even though the game’s visuals are largely similar to the popular 2013 first-person shooter, its gameplay will more than likely be different from it.

Unfortunately, neither a release date nor a launch window have actually been revealed by the developers so we don’t actually know when it’s going to be playable. Instead, they’ve merely said that it will be available “in due time,” which is as vague a timeline as possible. However, we do know that it’ll be compatible with current generation Xbox consoles as well as PC, meaning you should be able to prepare your platforms beforehand.

Luckily, inXile Entertainment studio head Brian Fargo has provided us with an even better idea of what we can expect in-game through an extensive blog post. According to Fargo’s statements, Clockwork Revolution will apparently be taking place “in the vibrant Victorian-era metropolis of Avalon,” which you’ll need to navigate in order to save it from the schemes of the sinister Lady Ironwood.

In order to prevent her schemes from ruining your character’s world, you’ll be making use of device called the Chronometer “to travel back in time.” This will naturally allow you to influence the past and the future, which most likely means that the choices you make during certain parts of the story will determine its outcome as a whole.

If you want to see more of brilliant design that was shown in the preview, then you’ll need to check out the trailer provided by the developers. Afterwards, take a look at some of the other show’s highlights like the South of Midnight reveal trailer and the Starfield’s gameplay preview.
