PS Plus

Select PS Plus users are reporting a game expiration glitch on the service that temporarily forces them back to the PS5 home menu roughly every 15 minutes. A Reddit thread has been set up where subscribers are sharing their experiences, with most simply confused by the apparent bug rather than venting any frustration.

According to those hit with the glitch, the PS5 alerts them of a PS5, PS4 title expiring in 15 minutes time, at which point the console automatically returns to the home screen. The game itself isn't closed — they're able to immediately button back in — but the cycle repeats itself so their gameplay is being interrupted roughly four times every hour. Poster Syizm says they have tried restoring their licenses, disconnecting from the internet, changing the date on the system, and fully powering down their PS5 to try and fix the problem, but to no avail.

Games like Horizon Forbidden West, Untitled Goose Game, Ghost of Tsushima, Humanity, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Life Is Strange: Before the Storm are throwing up the error according to Reddit users. At the time of writing, there's no known fix. It apparently doesn't matter what tier of PS Plus you subscribe to either, with reports of streamed PS3 titles also being affected.
