Infinity Ward has revealed that a classic CoD map is coming to MW2 “pretty soon,” and it needs to be Terminal if they want more players to come back and play their game. Terminal, which was initially included with the original Modern Warfare 2 game back in 2009, has arguably become one of the most iconic locations in the series due to its, layout and design that made any type of play style viable during a match.
Terminal’s versatility in its indoor and outdoor sections would be a haven for campers and aggressive attackers alike. It would also undoubtedly make the best ranked play loadouts and best Warzone 2 ranked loadouts look like overpowered pieces of equipment due to how ideal they would be for the map’s multifaceted structure.
Even though the fan-favorite, airport-themed location hasn’t been included since it was released with Infinite Warfare in 2016, both hardcore and casual fans alike continue to request its return to the game. So now that Infinity Ward has promised the return of a classic locale to MW2, this will hopefully be the time that they bring back one of the most beloved maps of all time.
According to a post from CharlieIntel, Infinity Ward has stated that “there’s power in nostalgia” of bringing old maps back so the upcoming addition will surely end up being one of the more memorable ones from past installments. Unfortunately, Infinity Ward are yet to actually reveal what the classic map is going to be so they may end up going in a completely different direction. But with the MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 4 release date right around the corner, we may not have to wait too long before it eventually gets revealed.
