Warner Bros has announced a delay to the Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy, with the game now not set to arrive before November at the earliest.
Announcing the news in a tweet from publisher Warner Bros’ official account, the company said the game will now launch on 14 November, 2023. “We know fans are looking forward to playing on Switch, therefore creating the best possible experience is our top priority. Thank you for your patience.” – the game had originally been scheduled to arrive in July, but as a result of the delay Nintendo Switch owners will now be waiting an extra four months.
Delays have been pretty familiar territory for Hogwarts Legacy fans, with the original game first being delayed from an intended 2021 release on its initial platforms of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but that version eventually arrived in February. The PS4 and Xbox One versions suffered their own delay, although that version was only delayed by a month from April to May.
Still, it’s fairly impressive that the game will still be coming to Nintendo Switch given the lower specs of that console – but the general consensus around the PS4 and Xbox One version was that it managed the limitations of that one pretty well when compared to the PlayStation 5 version. With this week’s release of Tears of the Kingdom, it’s easy to see why Warner Bros are still interested in making sure the game reaches that audience.
