Amanda the Adventurer is a horror indie game from developer DreadXP. The game is a spooky escape-room-like game with twists, turns, and a creepy story told through a collection of VHS tapes. During players' first playthrough, they will come across the Death Tape, a tape where Wooly and Amanda find a rotting sandwich, a rotting tree trunk, and even a rotting animal. At the end of the video, Amanda says she feels like she might also be rotting, and she asks the player whether or not everything rots.

The Everything Rots Tape in Amanda the Adventurer

After solving all the clock puzzles in Amanda the Adventurer, players will get both the code for the safe and a new tape. The code would have been useful earlier in the play through, but the safe is now gone. Players will need to note the passcode for their next playthrough. In fact, the only things to do is watch the Rotting Tape and hope for the best.

In order to get through the tape, Amanda will ask players a series of questions. Here are the correct answers to each of these.

  • First, she will ask what sinks. Click on the sandwich.
  • Next, Amanda will ask what the opposite of "alive" is. Answer "dead."
  • When asked "What killed Mr. Fox," players just need to keep clicking the items around the fox; after clicking them five times, Amanda will answer one that was never a choice.
  • Last, Amanda will ask if everything rots. Players are forced to type either yes or no as an answer to this disturbing question in this quirky horror game.

Answering Yes to Does Everything Rot

If players answer yes to "Does Everything Rot?" question, Amanda will both look sad. "That's what I thought," she'll say. Then the tape will fade to blue, and players will hear a sound behind them. A monster is crawling into the window, and there is no chance of survival. This is one of the five endings of Amanda the Adventurer, which is called A Gruesome End.

Answering No to Does Everything Rot

When players answer "no" to Amanda's question, Wooly says something comforting to Amanda. Everything is just fine, right? But the monster of the game seems to disagree; players will be attacked as soon as the tape is complete. So the answer doesn't matter; unfortunately, the only thing players can do is start another playthrough, open the safe, and try to alter their fate the second time around.

Amanda the Adventurer is available for PC.
