The Last of Us: Part I PS5 PlayStation

Naughty Dog was already an award-winning studio, many times over, in fact, but Sony's shiniest first-party studio has another feather to put in its proverbial cap: The Last of Us has officially been inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame.

Previous titles honoured have included Age of Empires, Angry Birds, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for their contributions to the industry. Other titles in the Class of 2023 include 1971's Computer Space, 1996's Barbie Fashion Designer and 2006's Wii Sports; hallowed company, indeed.

The World Video Game Hall of Fame was established in 2015 to recognize "individual electronic games of all types that have enjoyed popularity over a sustained period and have exerted influence on the video game industry or on popular culture" and are doing great work in chronicling the history of our medium, besides.

The Last of Us obviously deserves a spot in the history books, but are there other first-party titles you think deserve recognition? Let us know in the comments section below.
