The Division 2 PS4 PlayStation

Players holding out for a PS5 version of The Division 2 can probably let that particular dream die, as the creative director on Ubisoft's post-pandemic service game, Yannick Banchereau, has made it clear he doesn't want to leave last-gen players behind.

In an interview with MP1ST, Banchereau was asked whether we would ever see a native PS5 version of the game, to which he replied, in part: "We still have a lot of players that play on all generations, and we are not ready to leave them behind and ask them to upgrade. Right now, we are trying to make sure every time we add something, it still runs smoothly on the old gen as well."

It's quite a noble sentiment, really, and an interesting analogue to the 'is it time to leave last-gen behind' debate. Is this a Good Guy Ubisoft moment? Developer Massive did just unveil the Year 5 Roadmap for the game on Division Day (giving us our best look yet at Heartland, as well), which is an impressive level of support on top of multiple paid expansions such as Warlords of New York.

What do you think of Ubisoft's stance here? Do you admire this level of commitment to PS4 players? Let us know in the comments section below.
