Ubisoft has announced that an XDefiant closed beta will be taking place in order to test out many of the features of its upcoming FPS title. The developers have also noted that this pre-release phase will not require anyone to sign an NDA, meaning content creators will be able to create streams and videos of this game as much as they want.
With that said, you may now be wondering when the closed beta starts and how you to get an XDefiant beta code. Not to worry, because we’ll be covering exactly that and more below so you won’t miss out on any of the action.
This early look should give us a sense of whether XDefiant is destined to the same fate as Ubisoft’s previous attempt at a multiplayer shooter Hyper Scape or has the making of a hit that can stand the test of time.
XDefiant closed beta start and end date
The XDefiant closed beta will start on April 13, 2023 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT and will last until April 25, 2023 at 11 PM PT / 2 AM ET / 7 AM GMT. This will give fans 10 whole days to experience everything that the FPS title has on offer.
Additionally, the beginning of the closed beta period will be marked with the XDefiant Showcase on the official Ubisoft Twitch and YouTube channels. During this time, “a special ranked mode showmatch” will be featured that will have two teams fighting it out in a best of seven series.
Ubisoft had initially announced that the XDefiant pre-release phase would be ending on April 23. According to their latest update, however, the developers have revealed that the closed beta period has been extended for two days and will now end on April 25 instead.
XDefiant closed beta reward track
There will also be a unique reward track for beta players that will provide unique rewards for those that are able to progress through it. These are the prizes you can expect once you get into and advance through the pre-release phase:

- Emery “Dungaree” Character Skin
- M870 “Cobalt” Weapon Skin
- Emoji “XD Style”
- Magnum “Black & Bling” Weapon Skin
- MP7 “Graffiti” Weapon Skin
- MK20 “Pelagic” Weapon Skin
- Quinn “Hi-Velocity” Character Skin
- MVP/Profile/KS “Hi-Velocity” Player Card
- MP5 “TechX” Weapon Skin
There will also be exclusive Twitch rewards available for the XDefiant closed beta that can be unlocked by watching partnered and category streams during the closed beta. Here’s what you can get by simply watching sponsored content creators:
