The upcoming Stardew Valley 1.6 update will reportedly make using mods “easier and more powerful,” according to the game’s developer, Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone. He would then go on to note that there will be new content added with this next patch, albeit much less than the previous one.

Barone, who is also developing the highly anticipated simulation RPG called Haunted Chocolatier, has stated that he is taking a short break from creating the confectionery-themed entry to work on the aforementioned update. However, he will apparently be going “back to HC” immediately once the patch has been released.

Although the specific feature inclusions and fixes within the patch are yet to be provided, ConcernedApe has noted that it will introduce additional dialogue prompts for the characters within. This should make new and ongoing playthroughs even more entertaining as it gives diehard fans an additional incentive in discovering everything that the game has to offer.

On the other hand, Barone has also given gamers a very small sneak peek into what Haunted Chocolatier could look like based on an answer he gave to a fan. He stated that the game’s town will apparently be located “on the water” and that there will be docks, indicating that it will largely be different to Stardew Valley’s locale. Unfortunately, no additional details regarding the upcoming simulation RPG entry has been provided yet so eager players will just have to wait for further announcements from ConcernedApe.

It’s important to understand, though, that as a solo developer, all of the work being done on both of these popular projects falls solely on Barone, which is why there is still currently no release date for Haunted Chocolatier at the time of writing. Fortunately, his consistent updates and constant communication on the state of both games has made fans extremely patient and uncomplaining.
