Apex Legends, EA’s ever-popular multiplayer battle royale entry, continues its strong run as one of the top FPS games of the current generation. Boasting smooth movement mechanics, exciting gameplay, and a continuous stream of entertaining updates, there’s a reason many continue to enjoy the experience it provides until now.

If you’ve only recently joined in on the 3v3 fun, then you may be wondering if you can play with your friends on other gaming systems. Well, your search has brought you to the right place because we’ll be answering exactly that below.

Now, all you’ll need to do is to keep reading on to find out about the availability of crossplay in Apex Legends.

Does Apex Legends have crossplay?

Yes, Apex Legends does have crossplay functionality within its matchmaking system, meaning you can party up with your friends no matter what platform you’re playing on. You can also turn this feature off if you prefer to play with others on the same system. However, this will increase your queue time since you’ll only be matched up with other that have turned off crossplay.

It’s worth noting, though, that Apex Legends still doesn’t have a cross-progression feature so you won’t be able to continue your ranked grind across different consoles. Apparently, this helps EA “keep ranked play balanced, since different platforms have different advantages, and the Apex Predator rank is grouped by platform.”

The only ones exempted from this rule are those that play on the EA app or on Steam. Since these are both PC platforms, you’ll be able to carry over your progress from one account to the other. But you will have to link your EA account to the Valve platform after launching Apex Legends for the first time. Otherwise, you’ll have to start over and you may not be given the chance to unlink the EA account you provided.
