After an hour of server maintenance, Bungie released Destiny 2 hotfix 7.0.0.7 with several adjustments to difficulty and bug fixes for high-level activities found in the Lightfall expansion. Several bugs have persisted since Lightfall's launch, but the latest Destiny 2 update now addresses issues involving Neomuna, the Root of Nightmares raid, and Trials of Osiris.

On Tuesday, March 28, Bungie announced Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 servers would go offline for maintenance on March 30 starting at 9:45 a.m. PT. During server downtime, Bungie would prepare to deploy the hotfix 7.0.0.7 update for Destiny 2 on all platforms. Fortunately, servers would be brought back online 15 minutes later at 10:00 a.m. PDT, and the hotfix would begin to roll out for all Destiny 2 players. Bungie officially ended maintenance for hotfix 7.0.0.7 at 11:00 a.m. PDT, allowing players to log back in after installing the latest update on their platform of choice.

Bungie released patch notes for Destiny 2 hotfix 7.0.0.7 shortly after its deployment today, revealing several changes and bug fixes. Commendation score requirements have now been reduced for Guardian Ranks 7 through 9, and the Guardian Rank objectives that require players to give Commendations were removed entirely. Additionally, the number of Commendations needed to complete Hawthorne's weekly challenge at the Tower has been significantly reduced from 20 to 5. These Guardian Rank adjustments were made to alleviate frustration by Destiny 2 players trying to complete Commendation objectives in order to progress from one Guardian Rank to another.

The Destiny 2 developers also adjusted difficulty in high-level activities such as Nightfalls and Legendary Exotic missions. For example, enemy health has been scaled down for fireteams attempting to complete the Avalon mission in Season of Defiance. Enemy health has been reduced in Legend and Master-tier Nightfalls, Lost Sectors, and Offensives. As a result, Destiny 2 players should have less trouble taking down powerful enemies in these activities.

Various bug fixes were applied to the Neomuna destination, Root of Nightmares raid, and Trials of Osiris activity. The base difficulty of Neomuna freeroam has been reduced by scaling down the number of elite enemies that may spawn. Nezarec will now react to players that were positioned in a Well of Radiance in the Root of Nightmares raid, so Warlocks may safely use the Solar Super ability in the raid without a potential glitch being a problem. In Trials of Osiris, an issue preventing focused Trials engrams from dropping after seven wins has been fixed.

Destiny 2 hotfix 7.0.0.7 also fixes lingering issues that once affected the 40% minor enemy damage bonus for the Quicksilver Storm and Touch of Malice Exotic weapons. Further testing may be required by players to ensure these Exotic weapons are fully working as intended, however. Bungie will likely share more details about known issues and upcoming updates as the second half of Season of Defiance continues onward.
