In Like A Dragon: Ishin! players are able to acquire a range of different weapons for Sakamoto Ryouma to wield, consisting mainly of pistols and swords but also including some heavier special weapons. Through completing sidestories, clearing Battle Dungeons, and engaging with the game's crafting system, players will amass an arsenal of powerful gear to assist Ryouma in his adventure.

Like A Dragon: Ishin's best weapons often take quite a bit of effort to obtain, requiring players to gather components, craft, and perhaps track down a blacksmith willing to forge enchanted blades. This means some of the weapons on this list require players to have progressed further into the game, gaining access to certain areas and substories, before they can be created or otherwise obtained.

Best Swords

Ishin Swordsman Skills- Essence of Finishing Stab

As Ryouma's initial weapons of choice and a core part of two of his fighting styles, swords are a crucial component of any player's kit. Here are some of the best swords in the game.

Okanehira

As players will discover when heading into the later Battle Dungeons, armored enemies can be a huge pain to deal with. As a result, weapons that specialize in taking down armored foes become vital to success. A fantastic example of such weapons is Okanehira, which is a fire element sword that deals 20% more damage against armored foes. With a minimum of 3 slots and 1020 attack, this blade is a fantastic choice for cutting through the Battle Dungeons.

Okanehira is part of the Nameless Sword smithing tree, and can be reached by crafting the following blades: Nameless Sword > Ivory Sword > Elegance > Shiranui > Okanehira. Upgrading Shiranui into Okanehira requires 2 Phoenix Feathers, 10 Gold Nuggets, and 5 Platinum Filings.

Muramasa

Sparkling Jelly Blade

A fantastic blade for its sheer utility is the Sparkling Jelly Blade. This is a sword that grants +7% EXP gain and +6% Enemy Drop Rate, allowing players to more efficiently farm items and increase in strength. This makes it very useful for gathering the components for other smithing recipes too, so it's a decent blade to shoot for early on.

It is part of the Tunasmith smithing tree, and is reached by crafting the following blades: Tunasmith > Jelly Blade > Sparkling Jelly Blade. The upgrade from Jelly Blade to Sparkling Jelly Blade costs 40 Taro, 5 Gold Nuggets, and 5 Gold Chunks.
