It's almost time to survive the Empire once more. Check out the latest trailer and a roundup of all we've seen so far for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

“It’s been a long five years”

It’s not quite been five years since the surprise Respawn hit Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order hit our consoles in 2019, but boy has the sequel been met with anticipation.

Cal Cestus’ Jedi adventure was a massive hit, showing that there’s a new hope for single-player Star Wars titles. With his follow-up outing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor just over a month from launch, EA and Respawn have spoiled us with a new story trailer, providing some interesting hints at what’s to come.

The trailer shows the Jedi and resistance forces toiling in the wake of the Empire’s ascent. Droids, inquisitors and powerful ships seek out the last remaining remnants of the old world. There are glimpses of a couple of new allies who’ll be aiding Cal’s survival, potentially even in gameplay and combat. Excitingly, the old crew of Greez and Nightsister Merrin return, confirming they’ve survived the hiatus too.

Aside from that, the short but epic-feeling trailer shows off dual lightsaber combat, some foes to do battle with both old and new, Cal’s increased movement with the grappling hook and some awesome set-pieces. Naturally, we get to see some typical force powers being thrown about and gorgeous looking cutscenes of the Mantis to appreciate.

Short but sweet, the story trailer reveals just enough to whet the appetite without revealing too much at all. With hopes that the universe will be expanded supported by some teasing backdrops (Coruscant at last!) and bigger maps, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is looking in top form ahead of it’s release.

If you happened to miss them, you can also check out the official teaser trailer, reveal trailer and just the small matter of a 9-minute gameplay showcase below. The latter shows off even more of the expanded gameplay mechanics, while they all have simply phenomenal, goosebump elevating musical tracks. Will the Star Wars music ever lose that trademark luster? I somehow doubt it.

You can join Cal on his second journey when Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches on April 28th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Windows PC. If you haven’t already, it’s well worth your time checking out the original: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Not only will it be essential for the continuation of the story, it’s a fine game in its own right.

Here’s hoping the force is with Cal as he takes on the might of the Empire once again.
