The Last of Us season one has now run its course, and has been a major success for PlayStation Productions. In fact, a second season was given the thumbs up long before the first was over, and so we'll definitely be seeing more from Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie in the future. How far into the future, though? Ramsey think it'll be about a couple of years from now.

Speaking to Jonathan Ross on his talk show, the actress estimates that The Last of Us season two won't be with us until "end of 2024, early 2025". It'll "be a while", she says. Apparently, filming of the new episodes will likely begin at the "end of this year, beginning of next".

So, if you were hoping for more of HBO's take on The Last of Us next year, you may be out of luck. It's gonna be a longer wait for the follow-up season, which will begin to chart the events of The Last of Us: Part II. We've also heard that the game sequel may take at least two seasons of its own to get through, so all being well, we could end up with a minimum of three seasons.

There's plenty of time before all that, though, so we'll just have to watch something else in the meantime. Are you looking forward to more from The Last of Us' TV version? Tell us in the comments section below.
