In Sonic Frontiers, players may have run into a set of interesting Island Challenges that see fans having to make blocks fall from the sky with the help of Sonic the Hedgehog's new abilities. Some may be reminded of Tetris from the way the blocks fall and how they're relatively similar to Tetriminos, but these puzzles work a bit differently.

While Tetris deals with completing lines to make them vanish, Sonic fans will need to use these blocks in specific orders in order to match a similar structure that will be provided as a reference. While the first variations of this challenge featured three pieces at most, one puzzle on Ouranos Island, M-087, has five blocks players need to find the correct order for to solve the Island Challenge. This guide will say how to solve M-087 in Sonic Frontiers.

The Location of M-087 in Sonic Frontiers

Luckily, M-087 is rather easy to find compared to other puzzles in other areas of the game. Those who had trouble finding some of the Island Challenges in Chaos Island won't have an issue here as M-087 can be found to the east of the temple in the center of the island.

It sits in-between the curious pillars that make a path to said temple, almost at the very beginning of a ramp to a 2D section leading to the abandoned structure. It's rather easy to spot due to the many multicolored blocks used in the Island Challenge itself being littered all over the ground. Fans might want to be careful about starting the challenge right away as once a block is Cylooped, the other four pieces need to be placed before the challenge can restart.

How to Solve Sonic Frontiers' M-087 Island Challenge

Due to the way that the structure fans are meant to be replicating is put together in a way that's hard to see without keen eyes, the order in which these pieces fit may confuse players at first. It also doesn't help that due to the fact that there are five pieces, there are plenty of combinations to try.

The first piece fans should wrap Sonic's Cyloop trail around is the gray piece, which can be found next to the example statue. After that, players should aim for the yellow block, found to the left next to the empty plate the blocks are falling onto. The light blue piece is next, which is right next to the last block. The purple block is after that, found next to the example structure. From there, the final block is the black one, which is just across from where the purple piece was sitting. Once these pieces are together in this order, fans can consider M-087 finished.

Sonic Frontiers is out now on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
