It’s been announced that last-gen versions of Hogwarts Legacy are going to be spending a few more weeks in development and have been delayed by a month.

The news came from the game’s official Twitter account, posting a statement to fans about the delay from the first week of April, into May.

“We’re overwhelmed with gratitude for the response to Hogwarts Legacy from fans around the globe. The team is working hard to deliver the best possible experience on all platforms and we need more time to do this.”

As a result, Hogwarts Legacy will now arrive on Xbox One and PS4 on May 5, 2023.

The game originally launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC back in February – and though it’s proven popular, has disappointed fans who were hoping for DLC when so far none seems to be confirmed.

Given the size and scope of the game, it’s already pretty impressive that an Xbox One and PS4 version is in development. It’s also worth noting, however, that a Nintendo Switch version is also in development – but there’s no word yet if that too has been delayed from its ETA of July.

The game features a voice cast that includes Simon Pegg, Sebastian Croft, Luke Youngblood and more.

For now, players wanting to visit the Wizarding World can do so on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC – and if you want to know if your PC can run the game, check out the system requirements here.
