Diablo IV Open Beta Weekends Coming in March, With a Live Dev Stream Next Week

Diablo IV is launching in a few months, but the team announced over the weekend that open beta weekends are coming .

With the release of Diablo IV, Blizzard has been working to keep details under wraps about the story and lore developments, and this beta structure is no different. The first of the open beta weekends will be an Early Access open beta weekend for those who have pre-purchased Diablo IV on any platform, taking place from March 17th through the 19th. The following weekend, March 24th through the 26th, will be an open beta weekend for all.

It seems that if you played in the Early Access open beta weekend, you have a chance to come back for this open beta. You'll be able to explore the early game in its entirety, including the prologue and act one. The first zone, Fractured Peaks, Is somewhere you'll be able to explore as much as you want until the beta ends.

You'll only be able to level up to level 25, but even if you hit that cap, you'll be able to spend as much time during these beta weekends as you want as long as they're still running. so you'll have a chance to get your hands on some Loot and mow down as many demons as you can handle.

This is, of course, still a beta test even if it is also acting as pre-order promo. So this still counts as a larger-scale stability test and data gathering to work towards that June 6th launch.

With these announcements, also comes the next developer update live stream. this live stream will happen next week on February 28th at 11 AM PST.  The stream will feature Game Director Joe Shely, Lead Systems Designer Meng Song, and Lead World Designer Art Peshkov with more details on open beta, and a dive into the Armor and Stronghold systems.

For more details, head to Diablo IV.
