Leaderboards Go Live in New World Tomorrow, With Balance Tweaks and Fixes

Tomorrow, New World update 1.8.2 will add Leaderboards, bringing the  long-awaited feature into the live game after PTR testing. The update will also fix some issues, and make some balance changes, including ones aimed at the economy.

Leaderboards are almost here. If you have somehow been hiding somewhere far away from Aeternum for a while, maybe you haven’t heard the team’s description of the process of adding Leaderboards and how they will work. The team also acknowledges that it took much longer than they had intended to bring the feature into live, but now that it’s finally coming tomorrow, this will set up New World for even more content to come.

Leaderboards are the center of this update. There will be several main categories and over 50 subcategories under those. Maybe you’re more of a PvE player, and you’ll find the PvE Leaderboards to be the right place to set a goal and aim for it. Maybe add on some of the Tradeskills boards in your sights. For the PvPers, there are, of course, PvP-related boards. Everything under Faction War, including Territory control and War are there to set your sights on. Of course, if you like a little of both, then the widest range is open for you, with those 50+ subcategories possible.

They will have their own reward tracks and for making it to the top of weekly or quarterly boards you’ll be able to claim rewards  like skins and titles. Two boards will need fixes when the update goes live.

Also in the patch are fixes for certain quests,  a couple of movement exploits removed, and some balance changes and one intended to make PvP fairer. This change means that the penalty for leaving in progress Arenas and Outpost Rush matches has been reenabled. Throughout Brimstone Sands, 28 sarcophagi are being removed to address economic impact.

You can read the full notes, including fixes, weapon tweaks, more details about Leaderboards, and more at New World.
