PlayStation has announced its next system software update for the PlayStation 5 is now available to those on the beta testing program – and will be coming to everyone else ‘soon’.

It’s a pretty significant update, with a number of much-requested new features for the console. Highlights include native Discord support, allowing players to join a Discord voice chat through the console.

Some features may not make it into the final version – but here’s a quick rundown of what’s in this beta.

Many of these changes will be very welcomed by players, especially streamlining the process of migrating your PS4 saves from the Cloud to PlayStation 5.

The Discord support also comes about a year after PlayStation integration was first introduced on a basic level -but this just allowed Discord users to show what they were playing on PS5.

Similarly, Xbox got a similar update, enabling Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles to access Discord Voice Chat, last summer.
