A significantly large portion of Pokemon's appeal as a franchise comes from the unique designs of the hundreds of monsters that reside under its banner. From puffy little fluff balls to menacing beasts, the Pokedex contains a Pokemon for everyone. To top off the already high appeal of Pokemon, Game Freak also introduced shiny variants of each of their monsters, which are essentially rarer Pokemon with a different color scheme than their usual counterparts.

In general, green shiny Pokemon have been a subject of much debate among series fans, as Game Freak has used this color on many shiny variants of Pokemon. The best green shiny Pokemon are incredibly memorable and are highly desirable for a lot of players.

8 Tangela

Tangela

Known as the Vine Pokemon, not many monsters could pull off a green-colored shiny form as well as Tangela does. Tangela is a Grass-type Pokemon introduced in Generation 1 and has a small body covered with vines. Regular Tangela has blue vines, whereas its shiny form has bright green vines. Although Tangela is not the strongest Grass-type to use in Generation 1 games, it is still a great one to shiny hunt.

Shiny Tangela's orange feet also see a slight increase in brightness. While Tangela's evolution Tangrowth has a similar color scheme for its shiny form, the colors just work better on Tangela's smaller design.

7 Trapinch

Shiny Trapinch

Trapinch is a Ground-type Pokemon introduced in Generation 3 and is known as the Ant Pit Pokemon. It may seem small and weak at first, but it eventually evolves into a powerful Dragon/Ground-type called Flygon. Though Trapinch's evolutions are much better Pokemon to use, their shiny forms are not as eye-catching as Trapinch's.

A regular Trapinch has a small body fully bathed in a dull orange color, whereas a shiny Trapinch has the entire orange color scheme replaced with a beautiful turquoise color. This makes it look much more vibrant and one of the best green shiny Pokemon that the series has to offer.

6 Jellicent (male)

Shiny Jellicent

Known as the Floating Pokemon, Jellicent is a Water/Ghost-type Gen 5 Pokemon that evolves from Frillish. Frillish and subsequently Jellicent have different colors depending on their genders. Regular male Frillish and Jellicent have completely blue bodies with white highlights. Their shiny versions, on the other hand, have glowing green bodies.

Shiny Jellicent in particular looks very neat in its shiny form, retaining the whites but replacing the blue with a much more striking green color scheme. Its eyes also change from red to pink which makes for better contrast.

5 Salamence

Shiny Salamence

Literally known as the Dragon Pokemon, Salamence is one of the two Pseudo Legendary Pokemon that was introduced in Generation 3 and the Hoenn region. Salamence has a typical dragon design, with a dull blue and a faded red color scheme. Though a regular Salamence is menacing on its own, a shiny one comes off as even more striking with its brighter green and orange color combination.

The colors look even more alive when a Shiny Salamence Mega Evolves. The green body makes Salamence give off a dinosaur vibe, which is quite fitting for this Flying/Dragon-type. Salamence is a great addition to any trainer's team, and its shiny form is definitely one to look out for.

4 Applin

Shiny Applin

Applin is a Grass/Dragon-type Pokemon introduced in Generation 8 and is known as the Apple Core Pokemon. Applin has a very appealing design and it has two split evolutions depending on the type of item it is evolved with. A regular Applin has a red coating on its body that makes it look like a red apple.

The red color of Applin's body is transferred to its evolutions Flapple and Appletun as well, both of which also have great designs. A shiny Applin, however, replaces the red coating with a green one, making it look like a green apple. Game Freak really nailed Applin's shiny as it makes perfect sense to give it a green one.

3 Kleavor

Shiny Kleavor

Known as the Axe Pokemon, Kleavor is a Bug/Rock-type Pokemon that was introduced in Generation 8's Pokemon Legend's Arceus game as a new evolution for the Gen 1 Pokemon Scyther. Kleavor hails from the ancient region of Hisui where certain minerals are found that cause Scyther to evolve into this rock-headed Pokemon.

Regular Kleavor has a lighter brown body with dark brown highlights and axes which perfectly portray this Pokemon's Rock typing. Shiny Kleavor, however, looks much more like an evolution of Scyther, with its gutter green rock shell instead of a light brown one. Kleavor's inner body also sees a slight glow in its shiny form.

2 Mewtwo

Best Green Shiny Pokemon

Mewtwo is a Psychic-type Pokemon created from the DNA of Mew. Introduced in Generation 1, Mewtwo is one of the strongest and most popular Pokemon ever created. This Legendary genetic mutation of a Pokemon gives off some seriously scary vibes when encountered. A regular Mewtwo has a very light pink skin tone throughout its body, except for its tail, which has a much more prominent pink color. This color scheme portrays Mewtwo's origins accurately.

Shiny Mewtwo, on the other hand, looks, even creepier than a regular one, as its skin turns completely white and its pink tail gets replaced with a bright green one. Mewtwo's Mega Evolutions also see a similar color change, making them look even more like alien beings.

1 Latios

Shiny Latios

Known as the Eon Pokemon, Latios is a Dragon/Psychic-type introduced in Generation 3. A regular Latios has a blue and white body with orange eyes and a red triangle at the center of its underside. While blue is a great color to highlight Latios' male gender, its shiny form makes the design look much cooler.

A shiny Latios sees the blue replaced with a glowing turquoise which is just a vibrant shade of green. Its triangle also changes to a bright orange, which provides great contrast and cements Latios' place as one of the best green shiny Pokemon in the entire series. It's just a shame that shiny Mega Latios doesn't retain the same shade of green.
