A Genshin Impact player has posted an interesting map showing the farthest distance that players can travel by gliding. This is a unique movement ability that allows players to freely glide through the air by consuming Stamina points. Players can unlock this mechanic very early by completing Amber's gliding exam in Mondstadt.

In order to start gliding, Genshin Impact players just need to press their jump button while mid-air which will deploy their gliders. They can be activated multiple times in the air as long there is enough distance between the character and the terrain below them. So far, the game has introduced a lot of different gliders which don't have any additional effects on the players' ability to float through the air.

Reddit user Obvious_Search1477 has shared the results of their experiment to determine the longest possible gliding distance in the game. To do so, the player climbed up the Dragonspine mountains which is the highest place in the current version of Teyvat. Players can extend their gliding time by using special types of food and gadgets. In order to reach the farthest gliding distance in the game, they used the five-star Anemo user Xiao who can use his Elemental Skill, Lemniscatic Wind Cycling, to dash through the air even when gliding.

Obvious_Search1477 also had at least one additional Anemo character in their party, so they can trigger the Anemo Resonance effect which reduces overall stamina consumption by 15%. The post confirms that the player used the Red Feather Fan gadget that can be obtained by reaching Reputation Level 5 in Inazuma. This device can increase Gliding Movement Speed by 30% for 30 seconds, and it has a 100-second cooldown.

The post reached a lot of attention in the Genshin Impact community as the post gathered almost 5k upvotes with some comments claiming that Obvious_Search1477 could've extended their gliding distance if they jumped from a Zhongli pillar. Players who want to add Xiao and try the same experiment are able to do so right now as he's currently featured on the Limited Character Banner alongside the new Dendro character Alhaitham.

Xiao is a very specific Genshin Impact DPS character whose playstyle revolves around using Plunging Attacks while his Elemental Burst, Bane of All Evil, is active. As an Anemo user, Xiao can fit a lot of different Genshin Impact team compositions since his element does not interfere with other elemental reactions.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
