A recent leak from Genshin Impact has given players their first look at the second floor of Mondstadt's Knights of Favonius HQ, an area that has been inaccessible since the game's launch. The next event in HoYoverse's massively popular RPG is set to feature a return to the first region players visit in the game, with Mondstadt as the setting for the Windblume festival. Leaks have suggested a variety of events for the upcoming update as well as the newest Mondstadt character in Mika. Now, players may be able to reach an area in Mondstadt for the first time.

The headquarters for Mondstadt's Knights of Favonius plays a pivotal role in the early portions of Genshin Impact's story. The Knights are the first group to ally themselves with the player at the start of the game and the organization has seen several playable characters. Characters like Amber, Klee, and Jean hail from Mondstadt's defenders and players can freely move about through the first floor of the building. Now, Version 3.5 is set to finally grant players access to the second floor of the Knights' headquarters.

A new image shared by prominent Genshin Impact leaker Team China reveals the first glimpse at the second floor of the Knights of Favonius headquarters. The second floor appears to feature a raised platform where players first enter the upper level, as well as a large organ located directly across the chamber. Several floral wreaths and balloons can be seen around the headquarters' second floor, suggesting the new location will play a role in the Windblume festivities during Version 3.5.

While fans will be excited to finally explore the second floor of the Knights of Favonius' headquarters, the excitement may be short-lived. Further updates from Team China suggest the new location will be event-exclusive, only featured as a part of the Mondstadt festivities. Genshin Impact's Version 3.5 update will feature the newest member of the Knights of Favonius to join the game's playable roster with the previously-mentioned Reconnaissance Captain Mika. While the room may be temporary, the second floor will be the first new location added to Mondstadt since Dragonspine in Version 1.2.

Despite the temporary nature of the Knights of Favonius HQ's addition, Mondstadt has been heavily rumored to be receiving an expansion in the near future. Rumors related to the game's first region have heavily suggested that only "60 to 70 percent" of the region's total area is currently playable. Previous leaks and in-game voicelines have suggested two major areas of Mondstadt have yet to be added into the game, namely Dornman Port and the Dandelion Sea. The Version 3.5 update will see players return to the region where Genshin Impact began with more reportedly coming soon.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
