One Minecraft fan has used the game to build the home where Kratos and Atreus live during the events of God of War and its sequel. Minecraft has been home to many projects since its release, with fans taking locales from their favorite pieces of media and recreating them inside the sandbox to amazing detail, with this instance being no exception.

As a relatively simple wooden structure, the home Kratos lives in during the events of God of War (2018) and Ragnarok has become an iconic place in its own right despite the short amount of time spent there. Still, the small cottage is where Kratos initially fought Baldur and is where Odin and Thor confront him during Ragnarok, making it the place where two incredible inciting events happen that kickstart Kratos and Atreus' journey through the Nine Realms.

Reddit user JayBeae recreated the cozy home in Minecraft and uploaded screenshots of the project on the God of War subreddit, where it has received about 1,100 upvotes as of the time of writing. While the scale of this project is smaller than some others in Minecraft, this recreation captures the home's warm environment which makes it a lovely retreat from the harsh cold found in Midgard. It's both functional and intimate because it can act as a nice player home to return to for practical reasons while still being an artistic piece showing passion for another game.

One thing to note is that this is only a recreation of the home itself, lacking parts of the original's surroundings, including the area where Fenrir would rest and, as one commenter noted, the hole left in the roof as a result of the fight from Baldur. JayBeae even acknowledged this and replied that they will go back and fix it soon. It would be interesting to see updates on this project that can make it closer reflect how it looks in-game.

When it comes to games whose focus revolves around getting to intimately know and understand who the characters are on a deeply emotional level, God of War is among the best at getting the audience to resonate. This comes through clearly with the output of incredibly fan-made projects, with one fan painting an amazing portrait of Kratos during his time in the latest games. The passion fans have for the Spartan comes in an incredible variety, and seeing all the inventive ways it is expressed makes the wait for what lies in store for the franchise more palatable.

Minecraft is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and legacy platforms.
