One Stardew Valley player has sought to figure out what the green crops are in General Store owner Pierre's display by asking developer ConcernedApe, and even he is unsure about what's inside. Stadew Valley has a large assortment of crops to cultivate, but the green ones in Pierre's display do not match precisely how anything else in the game looks.Since he owns Pelican Town's General Store, Pierre is the primary person players go to stock up on the seeds needed to plant crops in Stardew Valley and make a living as a farmer. Naturally, this means that he carries a large assortment of items to purchase during the appropriate seasons ranging from kale and tomatoes to corn and pumpkins. This still does not answer the question of what is in his display.RELATED: Stardew Valley Update 1.5 Mobile Version Has Been Delayed at Last MinuteThe display in question appears during one of Stardew Valley's festivals, and items inside, like blueberries, potatoes, and tomatoes, are easily identifiable, but not two bundles of green crops. Twitter user Matty boi recently asked developer ConcernedApe to clarify what they are, and while he states that the bundle on the bottom right is likely kale, he is unsure what is on the top right of the display.

One possible conclusion that can be drawn from why the mystery crops are unlike anything else in the game is that the one on the bottom right is an earlier version of kale which explains the resemblance, and the one on the top right was also an earlier version of another crop or one that had been cut out of the game altogether. Another is that they are Pierre's attempts to farm, and while most turned out how one would expect, some came out unrecognizable. Seeing as he will steal credit for the player's successful crops in Stardew Valley, it would come as no surprise that he would do so out of envy if his attempts at farming are less than stellar.

Whatever the reasons are for the odd crops, it is fun to speculate on why Pelican Town's shady store owner has them in his festival display. If anything, small details like these being pointed out by fans and its creator acknowledging them point towards how Stardew Valley can keep a strong community despite being a largely single-player game released years ago. Since update 1.6 for Stardew Valley has not been released yet, there is always the possibility that the mystery crop will find its purpose outside Pierre's display.

Stardew Valley is available now for mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and legacy platforms.
