A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player shows their intense attempt to catch a Shiny Heracross. Shiny Pokemon were introduced in Generation 2 of the series, giving gamers something new to chase after. Every pocket monster has one of these alternate versions, which has led to some players who try and collect all of them.

Heracross was introduced to the series in Pokemon Gold and Silver. It is a Bug/Fighting-type that has a Mega Evolution, and it made brief appearances in the Super Smash Bros. games as a trophy and a Spirit. One player uploaded a stressful video that shows them trying to catch a shiny version of the pocket monster in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

A TikTok user named challa.uwu uploaded a clip of them facing a shiny Heracross with their Gyarados. In the video, the Heracross is confused and keeps doing damage to itself, leading to the gamer yelling in panic. They throw a few Pokeballs at the pocket monster, but it keeps breaking out of them. Unfortunately, the clip ends before it is shown whether the player caught the creature, though they did upload another video showing them catching it. It is a stressful moment that many gamers can sympathize with, as many players have come down to the wire in their Pokemon battles.

A number of commenters had advice for challa.uwu regarding catching Shiny pocket monsters in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Many stated that players can run away from the battle and have another chance to fight the creature after. They also said that gamers should save before the encounter, just in case something bad or unexpected happens. These are good tips for those who encounter shiny pocket monsters and want to make sure that they catch them and are able to add them to their collection.

While challa.uwu was able to catch the Heracross in the end, not all shiny encounters end successfully. A Redditor known as DaRealFeels uploaded a clip showcasing them battling a shiny version of the Pokemon Voltorb. The video shows the user fighting the opposing pocket monster with a Tauros, which trades attacks with the Electric-type Pokemon. The player throws a Pokeball that is not successful at capturing the Voltorb. The pocket monster then gets its next turn, which then leads to it using Self-Destruct, killing itself. The moment is tragic, especially since it was the enemy creature ending the battle itself and not the player. It shows that sometimes players like challa.uwu will have a bit of luck, while others will have encounters that do not go their way.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
