World of Warcraft just released an amazing remix of “Arthas, My Son” in collaboration with Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. This awesome remix of one of the most memorable tracks from World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic was shared in celebration of the holiday season.

Mike Shinoda is one of the two founding members of the popular alternative rock band Linkin Park. Though the band has been on hiatus since shortly after the death of co-founder Chester Bennington in 2017, Shinoda himself has put out video game collaborations and solo music projects while also involving himself in the controversial NFT scene.

Now, Shinoda has teamed up with Blizzard to produce this epic cover of “Arthas, My Son.” The remix itself is short and sweet, clocking in at two and a half minutes, but takes fans on a ride that is both nostalgic and new. The remix combines the iconic leitmotif of the heartrending theme from Wrath of the Lich King with the iconic guitar riffs and drum beats any Linkin Park fan would recognize immediately. The remix would be perfect to play in the background while raiding in Wrath of the Lich King Classic.

This isn’t the first time World of Warcraft and Linkin Park have collided. In 2015, Linkin Park played live at Blizzcon in Anaheim, California. During the show, Linkin Park played a special rendition of “Papercuts” with a remixed intro featuring the original World of Warcraft theme.

Perhaps no other band captures the nostalgia of World of Warcraft Classic like Linkin Park. The rock band was at its height during the early years of World of Warcraft, and many fans who heard the remix fondly remember their time listening to Linkin Park while playing the original run of Wrath of the Lich King. Many players shared tributes to Bennington and thanked Linkin Park as a whole. Both World of Warcraft and Linkin Park helped some players make it through some hard times, so this new remix from Shinoda meant a lot to them.

Right now, Wrath of the Lich King Classic players can benefit from a 50% experience boost through the holiday season. The Joyous Journeys buff began on December 13, and it is planned to run through January 16. Players can also safely expect Wrath of the Lich King Classic to add the Ulduar raid around the same time. As players prepare for a new year of World of Warcraft Classic, they can keep Shinoda’s rendition of “Arthas, My Son” on in the background to pump themselves up on raid nights.
