In a puzzling turn of events, Clash Royale developer Supercell has decided to nerf the Mighty Miner once again. The move comes as a surprise since this unit had only recently been buffed in a batch of balance changes made a couple of weeks ago.

Based on an announcement made through the game’s official Twitter account, the card’s Movement Speed is being reduced from Fast to Medium after it was increased previously. It did, however, receive a +5% boost to its Hitpoints to offset its reduction in speed.

Unfortunately, this slight improvement still isn’t enough to please its player base as a large number of comments under the post are complaining about the change.

DiegoB, a professional Clash Royale player, had this to say about the sudden reversion: “You left Phoenix and Monk absolutely broken for an entire month and then decide to make Mighty Miner useless again after a few weeks? Whoever is in charge of balance changes needs to be fired.”

Some users are suggesting that the enhancement was made as an incentive for players to start leveling up the unit through the use of gems or money. Now that it’s been nerfed again, the card has apparently become unplayable for a majority of the community rendering the spent currency useless.

Some players, though, have a more positive outlook towards the usage of this unit. One particular commenter noted the following: “I mean Mighty Miner was broken with the speed, but if you buff his HP by 5% I think he will still be very good.”

The nerf announcement for the Mighty Miner came as part of a maintenance notice from the developers in preparation for the upcoming season. Although the Mighty Miner has seemingly had its abilities reduced for now, we can still possibly see another buff for it again in a future balance change.
