Silent Hill 2 remake developer Bloober Team is announcing a new survival-horror project, to be published by Private Division. Bloober Team is known for its aggressive release schedule, having put out around 10 games over the past 10 years. Across those titles, Bloober Team has partnered with multiple different publishers, many focused on smaller indie releases like what Bloober is known for. A Private Division partnership is an exciting next step.

Private Division is a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive, a sister publisher to 2K and Rockstar Games. Private Division's focus, unlike Take-Two's other publishing subsidiaries, is on small and medium-sized studios and their indie projects. For example, Private Division partnered with Obsidian Entertainment for The Outer Worlds. More recently, Private Division partnered with Supergiant Games to bring Hades to consoles. Private Division may be indie-focused, but it has an eye for ambitious works.

Little has been revealed regarding Bloober Team's planned project with Private Division. What Bloober Team has clarified is that this is an "all-new" project, so it isn't the previously announced Layers of Fears. Further, it's also a survival-horror game, which aligns with Bloober Team's wheelhouse. More information is unlikely to be shared soon, as Bloober Team says the new game is in early development. It will take some time before it's ready to be shared in a larger reveal.

It's difficult not to see this announcement through the lens of Bloober Team's other recent reveal, that it's working on a Silent Hill 2 remake with Konami. The privilege of working on such a major game release with publisher like Konami raises Bloober Team's reputation tremendously. It's certainly possible that Private Division saw an opportunity in signing on for Bloober Team's follow-up to Silent Hill 2. As long as Silent Hill 2 delivers, horror fans will be excited for more Bloober Team horror games in the future.

To say that Bloober Team's plate is full would be an understatement. The mid-sized studio currently has Layers of Fears planned for release in 2023, and then both Silent Hill 2 and this new game are in ongoing development. Bloober Team is no stranger to having multiple projects in development at the same time, but the stakes have never been higher.

It will be some time before Bloober Team and Private Division are able to share more information regarding their newly-confirmed project. Still, for those who have fallen in love with Bloober Team's horror work, whether it's Layers of Fear, Observer, Blair Witch, or The Medium, the future looks very bright, indeed.
