Overwatch 2 players find a huge bug related to Doomfist’s damage output, making the character a lot weaker. Fans are also noting how weak the tank is since the change to the second installment of Overwatch. This bug has been found ahead of the transition over to season two of Overwatch 2 coming December 6.

The state of the game at launch has been likened to an expansion of the game’s predecessor, with one of the biggest changes being the reduction in team sizes, and the introduction of the free to play model. Another big change came to changing Doomfist from DPS to a Tank. The character’s massive namesake fist has always implied a great deal of power. However, it would appear as though the change to Tank has not matched this sense of power. And now players have found one reason why he is playing so poorly.

Twitch streamer GetQuakedOn was running some tests on the Hero, when they discovered a major bug. The bug is so big that a seemingly head-on strike deals no damage. GetQuakedOn demonstrates this with a clip of the Seismic Slam landing directly on another Hero in a Critical Health condition. Despite the direct hit, there is no change in health. Quite the opposite of Tracer's damage buff bug.

GetQuakedOn has also provided an illustration of their predicted radius of damage. The majority of the splash damage’s range is marked out as red meaning that enemy Heroes are actually safe. That is unless they happen to be standing in two thin areas either side of the expected damage cone. The streamer had posted to Twitter saying that they expected the attack to have holes. They also stated that in the original Overwatch, Doomfist had over 40 bugs. While minor bugs are to be expected in any game, a bug as big as this can ruin a character or even a whole game. Of course, this is just one of many bugs in Overwatch 2.

Season 2 promises to make some changes to Doomfist as well as other Heroes. Hopefully this will fix the Seismic Slam and make Doomfist more viable. Doomfist’s current issues may lead to him being forgotten in the wake of a new tank, however. Ramattra is set to debut with the new season, and has been dubbed a “Tempo Tank.” This is to imply that he will set the tempo of matches, as reflected in his ability to change between defensive and offensive. Doomfist, on the other hand, is struggling to manage either aspect.

Overwatch 2 is available now free to play for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
