Racing games have always been a competitive genre and with the Lakeshore Online mode being included, players often ask if Need for Speed Unbound has crossplay. Here’s what we know about its inclusion in this adrenaline-filled title.

Does Need for Speed Unbound have crossplay?

Need for Speed Unbound will have crossplay enabled so you’ll be able to match up with players on other platforms immediately. It’s important to note, though, that this mechanic will only be available in the Lakeshore Online mode. The story mode, unfortunately, can only be played solo, which means you’ll have to explore Lakeshore City on your own.

According to a blog post from EA, Lakeshore Online will be a completely separate experience from the game’s Campaign mode. Progression in it is specifically tied to the game’s multiplayer aspect but there are certain milestones in the story that will unlock rewards for online play.

Before you begin your online racing journey, you’ll be able to create and customize your own character. You will also be given a selection of starter cars to choose from in order to get you started. Once you’re finished customizing and selecting, you’ll be free to roam the city.

If you want to play with friends, the in-game servers also allow you to matchmake together effortlessly. Now that you know crossplay is enabled, you’ll be able to party up no matter what platform you’re playing on.
