Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is the title of the famed archeologist's next adventure. A new Indiana Jones 5 trailer has now dropped, offering footage of Harrison Ford's next adventure.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is set to be Ford's last adventure as Indiana Jones. He's played the character for over 40 years after first appearing in 1981's Raiders of the Lost Ark. Ford's second outing as the character, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, was such a heart-pounding adventure that it led to the creation of the PG-13 film rating. It's safe to say that Indiana Jones has left his mark on cinema, and the new Indiana Jones 5 trailer pulls at that nostalgia.

The new Indiana Jones 5 trailer was released by Lucasfilm. "I miss the desert. I miss the sea. I miss waking you every morning, wondering what wonderful adventure the new day will bring to us," Indy's old friend Sallah (John Rhys-Davies) says in a voiceover. Indy insists those days are over, but Sallah isn't so certain. The Indiana Jones 5 trailer then proceeds to showcase some scenes from the film over Indy's narration about his previous adventures.

Those new scenes include a CGI de-aged Ford, looking just like he did in the original Indiana Jones trilogy. The Indiana Jones 5 trailer also introduces audiences to Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Indiana Jones 5 character, Helena, who is Indiana Jones' goddaughter. There's plenty of action to be had as well, showing that, even at 80 years old, Indy is still prepped and ready for action. Additionally, the official Indiana Jones Twitter account showcased the new poster.

The trailer also showcases some of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny's plot, setting, and Mads Mikkelsen's mysterious villain. Though the year is now 1969, Indy is still battling the Nazis, an organization of which Mikkelsen's character is part. It appears that Indy has long since retired from his adventuring ways, and Sallah is the one who pulls him back into his adventures.

Indiana Jones 5 is directed by James Mangold, the first time an Indiana Jones entry is directed by someone other than Steven Spielberg. However, Mangold does a good job of capturing Spielberg's swashbuckling style in the trailer. The story (written by Mangold, Jez Butterworth, and John-Henry Butterworth rather than George Lucas) is still shrouded in mystery - the Dial of Destiny remains to be seen. It looks like Indy's last adventure will be just as action-packed and full of heart as his other four cinematic adventures.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 30, 2023.
