Overwatch 2, the follow-up to the initial title released in 2016, is well underway and players are now familiarizing themselves with its list of characters. Though most of the operators have remained the same, a number of new figures have also been introduced since launch.

Unfortunately, not all players were able to acquire these new operators before they became unavailable. But with the impending introduction of Catch Up Hero Challenges, this problem will soon be a thing of the past. To get you up to speed with Blizzard’s latest in-game addition, we’ve covered everything you need to know about it.
How to unlock Operators from previous seasons in Overwatch 2?
You’ll soon be able to unlock previously introduced Operators through the completion of Catch Up Hero Challenges. According to an Overwatch 2 blog post, these will be introduced at some point in Season 2 and will allow players to acquire new characters that have become unavailable.

Users will apparently be able to select the challenge for the hero they want to unlock. This will then send them to the Practice Range to learn their abilities. Afterwards, the ultimate goal would then be to win games of Overwatch.
New players that start out in Season 2 will benefit from this greatly as it would allow them to gain access to figures such as Kiriko and Sojourn without having to pay. However, if you don’t want to go through these trials, you can buy them from the in-game store instead.
Luckily, Overwatch 1 owners won’t have to undergo these new tasks as they were rewarded Sojourn, Junker Queen, and Kiriko by simply logging into the game before the end of Season 2.
